Functionalization of saturated and aromatic hydrocarbons

Next

Three members of the COST Action Working Group 1 [B T Golding (Newcastle), M Boll (Freiburg), W Buckel (Marburg)] have collaborated extensively during the past 3 years on understanding the remarkable mechanisms of enzymatic reactions in anaerobes that functionalize substrates renowned for their chemical inertness (saturated and aromatic hydrocarbons). These studies have been assisted by judicious isotopic labeling, structural biology and spectroscopy and are summarized infour upcoming reviewsin a special issue on ‘Anaerobic Hydrocarbon Degradation’ in theJournal of Molecular Microbiology and Biotechnology.
